Medical Acupuncture

Medical Acupuncture is a form of acupuncture developed in the West as a result of cultural exchanges that occurred during the 1970’s with China. What makes it different from traditional acupuncture, is that it draws on a scientific, evidence based model of care rather than a belief based philosophy.

Medical Acupuncture is frequently used to assist the treatment of  knee pain, neck and low back pain, as well as tension headaches and migraine. For a further information the British Medical Acupuncture Society provides excellent online resources.
